In this section of the website I will be giving information about some of the tools I use and general information about my workshop
The main tool to start has to be lathe :--
the main lathe is a Nova DVR which I have had for nearly 5 years it has done every thing I have wanted from small cord pulls / mice etc to large bowls, vases etc (check the gallery pages for examples of some of the pieces) I have added the outboard tool rest which allows larger diameter piece to a max size of 29 inch or 740mm.
The lathe has been used for bowl saving ( saving the centre of a piece of wood
and making extra bowls out of what would be waste)
The lathe is generally fitted with a versa chuck allowing different jaws from different manufacture to be installed to very small micro jaws to large gripper jaws for holding large bowls and vases.
I also have got a mini lathe "Fox mini" which gets used for demonstrations and small work within the workshop when the big lathe is setup for other work.
Other tools to be included within this section Rolly Monro Hollowing tool, Tormek sharping system, Kel McNaughton Bowl saver, to name but a few
